002780.KS price-basis validation

A public validation record explaining why 002780.KS (2026-07-31 pick) briefly showed about +898% in Korea performance aggregates, and which price basis the site uses today. Not investment advice.

What happened?

Trading in 002780.KS was suspended from 2026-08-14 through 2026-09-04. A1-for-10 reverse split (share consolidation) took effect on 2026-09-07. Before the data vendor restated history, one performance bundle mixed a pre-split entry (783) with a post-split exit (7,820), which produced atemporary +898% return on the site.

How is it calculated now?

Performance data now uses vendor-adjusted prices from Yahoo Finance, with splits and dividends handled via auto_adjust=True. After the consolidation was restated, both entry and exit sit on the same basis (for example entry 7,830 and exit 7,820), so the pick shows about −0.13%.

Trading-suspension caveat

During the suspension there were no tradable prints, so the vendorforward-filled the last price (volume 0, flat OHLC). The H20 and 1M exit at 7,820 for this pick is such a value. It can differ from the first tradable close after resumption (for example 7,570 on 2026-09-07). The site shows a measurement record, not a guarantee of executable prices.

How does this affect published aggregates?

With the corrected basis, this row moves published Korea summaries by only a few basis points (on the order of 8 bp). The old +898% error distorted totals dramatically, but the corrected figure is kept in aggregates under the same rules as every other pick — not quietly dropped and not manually overridden.
